Master of Photography
The intrigue for me will always be the “unknown,” starting with that moment that inspires, intuitively creating and experimenting with the layers of the composition, and watching the image emerge into a work of art.
As a photographic artist, I am always looking for new avenues of revelation. In 2010, I took a photogravure workshop in New Orleans with Josephine Sacabo and came home with a sense of new beginnings.
I am in the process of changing my photographic studio into an alternative print processing room where the digital meets old world as I explore and seek out new and mystical imagery. The first series of images entitled “Love Letters” is a celebration
of words of endearment written through history by men. Drawing inspiration from these love letters, I use photography to tell the story, and the photogravure method of printing to draw the viewer in and capture the essence of that moment.
The photogravure method of printing uses digital negatives to transfer the image to a
solar plate using UV light. The plate is then inked and printed onto art paper on a flat bed press. To see more of Deb's work please visit her website
