Oil Painting
Studio #13

As a child I had wonderful family vacations. Leaving the city and all the concrete behind, we would head for the great woods and mountains of our country. Lost in the Rockies or the Sierras, we would camp and live for a brief couple of weeks in those deep and mysterious woods.

I now live in a house surrounded by woods, looking at a lake where we hike and kayak, a secluded setting within the DFW area with my cherished family all around me. When I paint, it is mostly nature, woods, water, sunsets, birds and wildlife. That is how I hold on to my mystery every day.

I am fortunate to have earned an M.F.A. in Painting through a full scholarship at the University of Dallas. For the last 20 years, I have been a full-time professor and coordinator for the Art History area and I also teach painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor. Painting is what I love to do and art history is what I love to read for pleasure, so getting paid to do is a wonderful.
