Sunny Jacquet

Painter

My painting combines Trompe l’oeil and classical artistic techniques with surreal settings of still life objects. These artworks delicate mix of contemporary and traditional techniques that deal with tension between the real and unreal…

I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and immigrated to the United States in the 1980’s to pursue my dreams and passion for art in this land of opportunity. I received both B.F.A. and M.A .in Arts degree from T.W.U. In 2009 I was honored to be selected for one of the “New Dallas Nine” awards at the D-art slam show sponsored by D-Magazine.

My artworks manifest my love of travel and study. Passion for travel has taken me to many countries in Asia and Europe to experience classic and modern art collections that reflects many different cultures and history.

…Also, my mission is to provide something entertaining to the viewer. This can take the form of a whimsical or unexpected setting, or a stage on which to the give the objects a new life and new meaning that are symbols of our presence here on earth.
